Program Information
The Forest Ridge School District 142 Preschool Program is funded by the Illinois Preschool for All Grant. Children who reside within the District and are identified during the screening process as demonstrating potential challenges will be invited to participate in the program as openings become available. Children who are not immediately asked to participate in the program are placed on a waiting list. Participation in future District 142 screenings is not necessary.
Using Creative Curriculum as the framework for our preschool program, teachers and teacher assistants meet the needs of every student. A variety of centers are provided which present students with opportunities to make choices and interact with others through play. Activities are differentiated to meet developmental levels and encourage growth.
Each of our two classrooms include one teacher, one assistant, and a maximum of 20 students. Classes are held five days a week with two sessions each day. Placement in sessions is based on availability. Transportation is not provided. There is no fee for this program.
